Adrianne and Elijah's story

It was the first day of year 9 in Southville International School. For Adrianne the first day was nothing exciting. She was ready wearing her uniform and looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair was just around her shoulders so she hadn’t bothered to tie it up, her lips had a reddish shade, and she was quite tall and had a good figure. Not only was Adrianne good looking but she was also smart, that’s why she had many admirers, although she always ignored them. She was never excited when it came to school and meeting new people. She just didn’t want to talk or socialize with other people! There were a lot of new students coming into their school and that included a boy named Elijah. He was the boy version of Adrianne; he was smart, tall, handsome and he didn’t express any feelings in his face. He was the son of a wealthy businessman, the same as Adrianne. On the first day, they were classmates and they are seatmates. They didn’t talk to each other the whole day. Some of the new students were getting close with the other students but the two were just sitting there quietly. Elijah and Adrianne's atmosphere was so down.

Months had passed Adrianne and Elijah didn’t talk to each other, though they were always paired together for group work. They’d just ignore each other, they didn’t plan to sit in silence, it just happened. Until one day Adrianne saw Elijah on the rooftop punching the wall. His hands were getting red and had bruises, the wall had his blood  in it. She walked to him and stood looking at him without a single expression in her face. She asked Elijah calmly “What are you doing?” But Elijah just ignored her and walked away. Adrianne didn’t bother to follow him because she lost interest. The following day is supposed to be a normal day but suddenly a tall man wearing a suit with a very well built body and is in mid 50s was walking in the hallway and went to Elijah who was just sitting on a bench holding a book. He then suddenly grabbed Elijah’s collar and said many hurtful words to him. The man punched Elijah that caused a blood in his side lips. Elijah just stood there and just accepted the hurtful words said to him by his father. When his dad left he went straight to the rooftop to vent his anger.

Adrianne went to the rooftop again to eat but suddenly she heard something. She decides to see where it is, then she sees Elijah crying and punching the wall again. Adrianne can feel his feelings because she already went through it. She then walked closer to Elijah and told him to look at her eyes. She told him that he can tell her anything because she told him she can feel his pain. Elijah hesitates but in the end he tells her all the things he went through and why his dad punched him and said many hurtful words. Elijah told her that his father made him present in their company. They didn’t like his presentation because it was like a beginners presentation. He looked like a child complaining. He was still a teenager and had a lot more things to learn but why would his father make him do that. He still doesn’t know some things about their company but he is willing to learn it all just to make his father proud. After that day they felt comfort for each other, then they became friends.

Adrianne and Elijah were always together since then. As time went by they are officially in college now. Both of them were at the top when they were high school students. They never consider each other as a threat. Both of them are in Business Management. They wanted to go in that course because they both wanted to show that they are capable of running their family businesses. They both were always at the top, they will always be at the top and their grades were always a tie. Years have passed and now their graduation has come. Adrianne and Elijah were both excited, both of them were laude.Their parents finally appreciated Adrianne and Elijah’s hard work. They were so proud. After college they entered their own families businesses and merged them. Then they became the wealthiest families and the youngest billionaires in the world.

Short Story-Question and Clarify

Short Story - Question & Clarify

Neglect

Questions (wonderings)

Clarify (meanings)

The windscreen wipers worked furiously to clear the glass from the driving rain. It was no use, he still couldn’t see, so he pulled into a side street and waited for the pelting sheet to ease.

Flicking through the radio, a wavering squeal emerged, quickly changing into a fast beated pop song.  Jonesie, as he was called on the rank, shuffled lower into his seat and settled down to waited. Looking up to change the crackling station, he noticed a brown-coated figure huddling in the meagre shelter of a deserted warehouse. Jonesie studied the figure and decided, being a kind-hearted man, that he would try and do something to help.

As Jonesie neared, the brown-coated figure started to shift uneasily, looking up with fearful brown eyes.

“You look pretty cold out here, would you like to come and sit in my taxi till the rain eases off a bit?”, Jonesie asked sincerely.

After waiting a bit and receiving no reply, Jonesie headed back for the warmth of the taxi. When he neared the car, he noticed someone behind him and turning around saw that the brown-coated figure had followed him to the car.

“So you decided to come then, eh mate?”, Jonesie queried heavily, as he helped the figure into the passenger seat.  Closing the door, Jonesie thought about what might happen to this poor guy.

In the car, Jonesie changed the station yet again finding a country song he thoroughly enjoyed. After the song had finished, he flicked the radio off and turned to his bedraggled guest, noticing that his bones almost protruded through the coat.

“So, aye, where do you come from then mate?”, inquired Jonesie. “That’s if you don’t mind me asking?”

His only reply was the turning of the brown-coated figures head, to stare wonderingly out into the menacing dark sky.

Jonesie tried again, “Eh, um, what’s ya name then?”

The brown-coated figure turned his head in the direction of Jonesie and blinked his fearful brown eyes in reply.

Silence followed, Jonesie thinking of what he could do for his silent guest.

Jonesie flicked on the radio again, it crackled and hissed, and then resumed into some teenage trash.

“Come on mate, you must be starving. Lets take ya home and give ya some tucker”, Jonesie said.

The brown-coated figure did not move and his answer was only a deep sigh.

The rain had eased and as they drove, the road glistened like oil. Jonesie had finished his shift, so there were no problems. When they got inside his house, Jonesie helped the figure to dry himself, but he never took his coat off.  Jonesie thought this a bit odd but made no further inquiries.  He prepared a meal and the brown- coated figure warmed himself in front of the blazing fire.

Six months later, the brown-coated figure and Jonesie spend every night in the taxi, listening to the crackling radio and sharing long conversations with many pauses and deep sighs of reply.

The fearful brown eyes are fearful no more and the ragged, tatty coat has been replaced by a thick, warm one.

Jonesie and the brown-coated figure spend all their time together, after all, dogs are a mans best friend.

Greek Myths Legends

The Greek Myth I am studying is called Trojan Horse.

Paris was the son of King Priam and Hecuba of Troy. He is known for being clever, strong and very good-looking.

Paris was believed to ruin Troy, when the baby was born King Priam  gave it to the chief herdsman. The herdsman left the baby to die on Mount Ida.When the herdsman, Agelaus  return he saw the baby alive and healthy because it had been kept alive by the wild bear. Agelaus saw that this is a sign that the baby was meant to live. He decided to look after it. He called the baby Paris, he grew up to be clever, strong and very good-looking. All this time, Paris had no idea that he was the Prince of Troy.
Paris' good looks and bravery caught the attention of the gods. One day The goddesses visited Paris while he was herding his goats."Zeus says you have to give this golden apple to whoever you think is the most beautiful of us",one by one the goddesses approached Paris. Each of them offered him a wonderful prize if he choose them. Paris did not accept the offer of the first two goddesses. Paris  give the golden apple to aphrodite because he couldn't say no to the prize because she told him that she will give the love of Helen, the most beautiful woman who has ever lived. Paris' life went back to normal. Until one day, he went to Troy to take part at the yearly games. He won the boxing running events. To save the family prides, two of King Priam's son challenged Paris to fight. Agelaus was terrified that Paris would be killed and rushed to King Priam and told him that Paris is his son. Paris is welcomed back as the long lost Prince of  Troy. Paris couldn't stop thinking of Helen. He knew that Helen lived in Sparta. He was welcomed as the Trojan prince. Unfortunately Helen had a husband, King Menelaus. The king was suddenly called and left. Aphrodite begins to work her magic on Paris and Helen. The night Menelaus left, Paris and Helen ran away together and took Helen with him on Troy. Menelaus was very angry when he found out, he ask for his brothers help the most powerful king in Greece. Helen's beauty charmed the Trojans. Menelaus come to get her back and brought armies from his brother's empire(Agamemnon). For nine years the Greeks camped outside the walls holding the city under siege. The battles was fought on the windy plains outside the walls, with no final victory. The Greek Warrior Philoctetes  challenged him to an archery contest  to the death. Paris didn't stand the chance. Though the first arrow went wide, the second pierced his hand and the third blinded his right eye. But it was the fourth, which pierced Paris' ankle, the killed him.
